OUR Mission

The North Atlantic Figure Skating Club (NAFSC) is a non-profit figure skating club which provides opportunities, community, and support for skaters to achieve their figure skating goals.  The club operates on the principle that skaters of all ages, levels, and disciplines have the opportunity for success and growth in a safe, fun, and committed environment.  As a full member club of U.S. Figure Skating, we strive to provide programs and encourage participation across all disciplines, from recreational to competitive, which allow our skaters to practice, improve, and present their skills and achievements through a variety of skating opportunities.

NAFSC is made up of skaters, coaches, parents and others who love figure skating.  Our goal is to promote the sport of figure skating at every level throughout the Greater Portland area and Southern Maine.  NAFSC was founded in 1997, incorporated in 1998 and is home to over 100 members, both young and adult, including parents, skaters, coaches and judges.

Family Ice Center

NAFSC's home ice rink is Family Ice Center (FIC).  FIC is located just north of Portland in Falmouth, ME.  It is Southern Maine's premier year round ice skating and community center.

Family Ice Center has two refrigerated surfaces: a 200’ by 85’ inside surface and a man-made kidney shaped outside pond which is open approximately from Thanksgiving to March, depending on weather and temperature conditions.

New England InterClub Council (NEICC)

NAFSC is a member of the New England Interclub Council (NEICC) which is an association of figure skating clubs who individually belong to U.S Figure Skating.  The purpose of objectives of the NEICC are to improve, encourage, and advance figure skating in all its branches; to provide a forum for the exchange of information among its member clubs; and to provide a means for cooperative activities such as competitions, judges, and accountant schools, club education seminars and the publishing and dissemination of information.
