Basic 5 through Free Skate 6 badge level skaters: Want to enhance your LTS learning experience? The LTS FS Program gives you added days of freestyle lesson and practice and a specialty class on top of the Early Fall Thursday classes!
$38/day (same as summer program) and you get a 25 minute freestyle lesson and a 25 minute practice along with a specialty class (skating skills/power stroking, step sequence clinic, synchro skills, spin clinic)
Pre-registration is required and will be available 8/23/19 12 noon. You must register by the end of the Friday before the week you wish to take a class.
A few reminders:
We are not able to pro-rate our badge classes.
Students can walk onto specialty classes (dance, skating skills, spin clinic) with permission from Skating Coordinator.
There is no open practice ice available during Thursday LTS. All skaters utilizing ice during LTS must be participating in a class. Private lessons may be scheduled during a skater’s class practice time.
2019 LTS SUMMER FUN PROGRAM STARTS JULY 1, 2019
FOR SKATERS IN BASIC 5 THROUGH FREE SKATE 6
Cost: $38 per day includes a 25 minute lesson, a 25 minute practice, and a 20 specialty on ice class (power stroking/skating skills, spin clinic, synchro skills, step sequence clinic).
When: Monday through Thursday for 8 weeks (note that there is no ice/class 8/8/19 and 8/9/19)
Optional & Optimal: We also encourage you to participate in the off-ice mat fusion and tone and off-ice strength and conditioning classes as well! These are designed to improve performance of the athlete including enhancing the sport specific skills of figure skating . Designated for participants 9 years of age and older.
Do I have to sign up ahead of time? Yes! Pre-registration is required in order to ensure we have enough coaches and proper instruction for all levels of skaters interested. Of note, you must register by 11:59pm the Friday before the week for which you are signing up.
Because of planning needs and because the ice will be shared with other skaters, we cannot accommodate walk ons.

THERE IS NO OPEN PRACTICE ICE AVAILABLE DURING THURSDAY LTS. ALL SKATERS UTILIZING ICE DURING LTS DAYS MUST BE PARTICIPATING IN A CLASS. PRIVATE LESSONS MAY BE SCHEDULED DURING A SKATER’S CLASS PRACTICE TIME.
PAYMENTS MADE IN THE OFFICE WITH A CREDIT/DEBIT CARD ON THE SQUARE WILL BE ASSESSED A 3% CONVENIENCE FEE.
National Skate Day was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who came out, got free lessons, lots of goodies, and learned about our amazing learn to skate programs offered through NAFSC!
The North Atlantic Figure Skating Club's Learn to Skate USA Program is professionally designed to:
Provide a fun and safe skating experience for all levels of skaters, from beginners to advanced skaters.
Teach correct technique of basic skating elements.
Give participants the skills necessary to either skate for fun or move competently into the U.S. Figure Skating advanced test and/or competitive structure.
Promote health and physical fitness.
Group skating lessons are offered during five sessions from September through June on Thursday afternoons and Saturday mornings. All classes are taught at Family Ice Center in Falmouth, Maine and are taught by professional instructors/coaches certified by U.S. Figure Skating with assistance from NAFSC Jr. Coaches. Skaters are divided into groups by age and ability. Skaters will be tested as they progress through the program.
Each LTS registration with the NAFSC Learn to Skate USA includes the $16 membership fee for the Learn to Skate USA Basic Skills Membership.

As of June 1, 2016, U.S. Figure Skating has rebranded their Basic Skills program and it is now Learn to Skate USA. You can learn more about the changes at www.learntoskateusa.com. Designed by U.S. Figure Skating, the Learn To Skate USA Program is a top-quality ice skating program that serves the needs of both the recreational and competitive skater. The curriculum is designed to keep skaters enthusiastic about learning from the time they begin lessons until the time they reach their goals.
